The only way out is through? Is it true?

I sure hope so because I’ve been through enough to make me believe that my strength comes from talking about my elephants. That way, I can write my narrative-not with shame or guilt, but with empathy and laughter. I’m so blessed to be in a place where I can tell my younger self, "I’m sorry you went through that, and it’s okay, you’re alright now. You’re safe now.”

Okay but we can’t be stuck

We can always do better once we know better.

It sure does feel like it when all is said and done. But there’s still hope. We can always do better once we know better.

There are pros and cons to it. I spent five years hopping around the country, running from my shadows, making new friends, exploring twenty states and countless cities, eating food I still dream about, and facing my fears. But I have nothing to show for it. Or do I? Whose unit of measurement am I using to count my twenties as wasteful and listless? It took me nearly ten years to move past failure; it’ll take half the time to reinvent myself. I just have a feeling about it.
